Matayoshi Kobudo Vol 1


Shinpo Matayoshi Sensei demonstrates Bo kata, Choun no Kun, Sakugawa no Kun, Suishi no Kun; the Matayoshi Tonfa and Nunchaku kata; the Tsuken Akachu no Eku, kata with the oar he learned from his famous father. Also included is a demonstration of the Hakutsuru (White Crane) kata the author learned in the 1930s from the Chinese Boxing master, Go Ken Ki, (Wu Tsien Kuei) originally from Fuchow.



This program includes exceptional demonstrations of Kobudo, augmented by a series of technical lectures from the author, noted Okinawan master teacher, Shinpo Matayoshi Sensei assisted by Morio Higaonna Sensei. Included 
are the Bo, Tonfa, Nunchaku, and Eku as well as the White Crane Kata, Hakutsuru. This series was recorded on the sound stage of Jones Intercable in Oxnard, California using multiple synchronized cameras and on location in Port Hueneme and Ojai California. The lectures are given in Japanese voiced over in English, and both programs include professionally produced sound tracks and graphics.
